This step-by-step skiing guide will take you through all the basics from getting down beginner ski slopes safely, to mastering the infamous black runs and their terrible moguls. We cover skiing technique in-depth from beginner to advanced with lots of handy tips throughout for skiers of all abilities

Learning to ski is a gradual process. The first techniques that you learn are the safest and, most importantly, the easiest for beginners. As your skill and experience increase through practice you move onto a new set of intermediate techniques that will allow you to navigate the ski slopes at a faster pace with more freedom, before finally dealing with more challenging ski runs and bumps in the piste called moguls. The best thing about skiing is that it is an enjoyable experience at all levels. In this Ski Technique section we will be familiarising you with all the different stages so that, when you get on the slopes, you will be well prepared for what awaits you.

Curiously enough the first thing a skier needs to know when getting started is how to stop. A beginner may well career out of control and become a risk to himself and other skiers if he cannot stop his random descent. At all levels of skiing, a rapid halt can be not just limb saving but life saving. If all else fails throw yourself on the ground. Its only snow after all and as a beginner you need practice in falling down. It will probably happen a lot and it's good to see that it doesn't really hurt if done correctly. Even really good skiers may need do this as, once they're going at pace, it is the best way to bring an end to danger closing in at speed.

Skiing equipment is designed to let you fall. Your ski-bindings (which connect your boots to you skis) should release when you fall, allowing you to crash into the snow without entangling your legs and damaging them. If ski bindings are set incorrectly, however, they will either not eject you (if too tight), which is dangerous, or frequently eject you unnecessarily, making you fall when you should not (if too loose). Ski instructors wary of being sued may be reluctant to help you out here, but lift operators often have a screw driver or pen knife on hand to lend to you. Adjust bindings by turning the screw 180 degrees at a time only. If that fails, get them looked at professionally in a ski shop.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the rounded Cap construction found on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Tri-axial Fiberglass: A weave of fiberglass with three directional orientation provides excellent strength to weight ratio and better torsional stiffness as compared to bi-axial weaves.

Reinforced Binding Area: The mid-section of this ski has a reinforcing layer to help prevent binding screws from tearing out under extreme force. This allows for a lighter ski without loosing the strength underfoot.

Extra Durable ABS Sidewalls: This sidewall material transfers energy to the edge extremely well, which results with better edge grip and control. It also helps the ski have a lively feel.

Twin tip skis: are where its at these days. Their versatility allows you to ski powder in the morning, bumps at midday, and session the park in the afternoon. These are the skis that have brought skiing back to life and kept the younger generation interested in this great sport. The turned up tail is designed for skiing backwards (switch), but for most people, it just looks cool. You can also spray your friends with the rooster tail of snow behind you.

TCS, it appears you must continue the endless chain of births and deaths, hopefully upward spiral, until the flower of enlightenment blossoms in this garden.

So you decided to "stay for the 'not to respond,'"? Ok, then, suit yourself, just don't get pissed when you feel pity. As I said, you may be a good politician, and capable of manipulating the facts and fancy wording to influence other people's opinions, nevertheless, the truth always prevails, where you'll find you are only fooling yourself, in the end.

To say from a well educated professor to a juvenile style shameless denial is quite a drop. Hopefully you'd survive the drop.

Now what, you don't want to go, and you don't want to talk/discuss, just keep pissing in your pants? Are you sure this is the example you want to show the world/web how the barking bears do their discussing?

I'm here to talk about skiing and skiing related subjects, if you have any question about skiing related subjects, I'll be glad to find an answer for you.

Except, of course, your banner, that's your wrap.

I count eight waving the same banner, maybe two sympathizers, hop on the bandwagon; not bad for a leader of a local mob of little knowledge and small minds. And the fools' parade matches on. Thanks for the first hand experience of how a mob of little knowledge and small minds in action.

Thanks for not participating in my threads and posts; will that be nice, though I wish, knowing that you lot don't really have the discipline to keep away from my posts, I won't hold my breath for it.

Now, what do you say? Are you going to stay for the "not to respond," (pathetic, isn't it?) or just match on out of here, take it for a bad carnival day?

"Dressing in colorful clothes, fancy makeup, making face to fawn on the world, yet not knowing oneself is doing it is fawning in the name of Tao, one vulgar among the common people, who sees the right and wrong on others and cannot see the same thing on oneself is foolish to the most..."

02 on Yahoo! Video

quote=CrazyBoy

The above kind of post, shouldn't you move it to 對罵 area

If me and Beg post it, you'll remove it to 對罵 area immediately.

BECAUSE

論壇管理員 = Crazyboy = Norman

Norman hiding, 論壇管理員 comes up and then Crazyboy post his crazy post and 論壇管理員 remove our thread to other area

Norman is the boss of this site, of course he can do whatever he want
