taichiskiing 寫:You mean the two bulls butt head? Only "brute forces," no, there is not much "martial art" skill to talk about. And no, 200 pounds guy without skill cannot push me, if he is not being flipped/thrown first.

No, Blake doesn't need to know the term "push feet," he already knew how to do it. But you can ski "way better than me" is only you little knowledge bragging; the fact is, if you can keep up with me on bumps, you are pretty good already, but can you ski on a heavy bump hill for 7 min. none-stop? You are only a weekend skier is not an excuse.

It is "amazing" to you only because your little knowledge doesn't know how it works; the power they demonstrated is "not" "transfers the force from lateral to the ground" but "from the ground to lateral." The way of Taichichuan to develop power is "發於跟,控制於腰,散於手"/"rooted on heels, controlled on waist, and appeared on hands." So, your observation, and so is your little knowledge, is "wrong again."

Their martial arts skills are good, just like you CSIA L4 are good, but your CSIA L4s' skiing are not the only ways to ski, so are their martial arts. And you cannot do neither, you are only "name-dropping" famous people to boost your own images.

That's fine by me, since your knowledge lack of substance, and things without substance cannot be impressed, I won't hold my breath for it. As you have slipped into perpetuated denial, you no long have "eyes" to see things that are "amazing," and that is quite an "amazing" story for a CSIA L2.

You said a 65 years old master Chan using brute force against a strong muscular men 1/2 of master Chen's age. Your brain doesn't seem to work normally any more. A 200 pounds young guy can push you to fly like a kite.

A guy doesn't need to learn push hand and can push feet way better than you. Then what's the point to be proud of your years of training your push feet.

You know nothing but always claim yourself knowledgeable. A CSIA 2 can be better than a CSIA 4. There is example, just your little knowledge make you blind.

You skied years and even more than 100 days but your skiing is still nothing extraordinary. It's because you are too easy to get satisfied to yourself.

"Brute force" match is what they end up, and you cannot see it, so it is your brain is not working. The rest is only you little knowledge malicious speculations.
A guy doesn't need to learn push hand and can push feet way better than you. Then what's the point to be proud of your years of training your push feet.
Didn't say you need to learn push hands to learn the push feet, and skiing itself is push feet practice, no needs to go push hands long way route. You get caught in your rhetoric, stuck. And you wouldn't know the value of the push feet until you can ski "formlessly," but you are still stuck at L2.
You know nothing but always claim yourself knowledgeable. A CSIA 2 can be better than a CSIA 4. There is example, just your little knowledge make you blind.
Actually, I know more about skiing, inside and outside, than you ever possibly know, and that's why you cannot see how I skiing, and a CSIA L2 may know better than a CSIA L4, but that also says your system screw up. In reality, no, some L2 may be young and vigorous and seemly ski better, but their knowledge and experience can not match up that with a L4 or ski as elegant as a L4. That's you L2's blindside.
You skied years and even more than 100 days but your skiing is still nothing extraordinary. It's because you are too easy to get satisfied to yourself.
You can blame yourself for lack of insight. Yes, perfection: "being there, right time and right place" is what I pursue and is what I get, yes, I am pleased.

On the other hands, you are always trying to pursue what you called "extraordinary" skills/好高騖遠, chasing "improvements," but never get "there," you are chasing a shadow/捕風捉影, never reach the final goal, no, I don't envy you.

You see Master Chen using brute force is because you are just an little knowledge stubborn old man. He is transfering the massive force pushing by the strong oppenent to the ground so he didn't need to move a step.

Your formless is just like a stupid guy swing the hands around. Your formeless is the very distinct form of stupid Taichisking. It's the taichiskiing form. :face (334): :face (334): :face (334):

I can see the big young guy using brute and Master Chen used his technique to take it away. That's is what the difficult part. To use a circle to make the big guy losing balance is much easier but that's not master Chen wants to demostrate.

How can a normal people do push hand with a taichi master? A norman person only know how to push.

So many people deny your skiing from forum to forum, year after year but you still don't face the reality. That's a typical stubborn old man. That's why you need to always ski groom runs now. Your lack of technique makes you so tired skiing off the groom.

You should ask Blake how mcuh time he was trained with a free style coach. Freestyle mogul skiing is not taught by instructor. Dumb ass.

Since one is learning better when "teach," learn to teach oneself is the best way to improve one's skiing. In the old days only ski schools have information on skiing, ski instructions may be a good idea, but nowadays with internet, youtube, and other medias, skiing info are all over the places, self-taught, or buddy-challenges (watch how kids learn/challenging each others in terrain parks,) or just plain skiing more can make it much quicker progress. From what I've observed on the mountains, 90% of classes are a waste of time and money. "Instructor path" to better skiing takes too long, so is not efficient.

Quote PKU:

A self learn skier can never go to that kind of level.

I am not wanting to get into the argument here, but I will state the facts about this and you
guys can decide if it means I am "self learned" or not.

The instruction that I have had consisted of what I will list below...

When I was a teenager I went to a total of seven camps that were 3 days each, for a total of
21 days of instruction in my life.

This was 6 days total at mogul camps that were taught by Chuck Martin (Olympian) and this
was 15 days total at all-mountain skiing camps that were taught by the DesLauriers and
Egan brothers (famous movie skiers). I remembered what they taught me and kept working
on it by myself.

I competed in moguls at the end of each Chuck Martin camp because it was part of the camp
and I did one more competition when I was 14 years old. I won my age group in that one...
I don't remember what place I got overall. I think it was fourth.

The competitions at the end of camp were just a camp thing that only had the learners from
that camp in it. I have done one normal competition.

We had a resort near us growing up that had night skiing on every run and a lot of icy moguls.
Night skiing was more popular than day skiing there and I was able to ski very often at night
after school for all the years I lived there. I started skiing when I was 2 years old.

I also used to watch ski movies non-stop. I would watch them everyday. Literally every day.
This may have contributed to my learning because it was absolutely every day for 5 years or
so. I had 2 instructional movies. One from the DesLauriers and Egans and one from Greg
Stump. I didn't watch those as much as other movies though. I watched the entertainment,
non-instructional ones a lot more.

Quote about the qi video I posted:
I think you missed on this one. I don't believe he can start a fire with
his Qi, the smokes you see in the demonstration is from a chemical reaction, so it was just
a "magic" trick. And ancient Chinese didn't know "electricity," so any proof through electrical
means is only proven an illusion, "electricity" is not Qi, and acupuncture/needle does not "input"
Qi by itself, but to "trigger", (like open and close a valve on a Qi passage,) the flow of Qi already
inside the body, so, without fully understand what Qi is and how Qi works inside the body,
the acupuncture treatment is also an illusion.

Ok, I see how the fire thing COULD be a trick... but what about the team of experts trying to
prove that this is fake? They didn't prove it was fake. The qi master in the video also says
that "it's not electricity, it's qi", but then they go to a hotel room and he finds a way to light a
light bulb. It's not electricity, but maybe it could work anyway on a small light bulb with
enough qi. If it's a trick, then how does he do these other things? That's what I'm getting
at. I see how the fire thing could be... but what is a possible explanation for the stuff people
are feeling in the video and the light bulb thing? Does anyone have an idea? If it's a trick,
then I'm still fooled.

My brother has never had any telemarking instruction at all. He switched to telemarking from
alpine skiing in 2009. He had alpine instruction before that. He had a lot more instruction
than me in the moguls but less instruction than me in non-mogul skiing. He skied with similar
ability to me on alpine skis before switching to telemarking.

This is true that I've said "I never competed". It's a generalized statement when I say that.
The exact truth is that I competed once. I wouldn't count the ones that I mentioned at the
end of camp.

Most people won't understand Taichi Push hands. For the gerneral public , the easier way to understand Master Chen' technique, to to do it against a big and stong guy. Remember what Blake said, he siad he'll impressed if master chu can do the thing against a Sumo or MMA guy. That's why Master Chen got that video and it's more than 1/2 an hour.

Now Blake confirmed that he got trianed by coach, Chuk Martin for seven mogul camps. Although he didn't compete much. The way he skis the mogul is the mogul competition way. It's not a stupid guy pretend he's a good skier and swinging his hand around when skiing.

About the sticky hands thing, you want to bet if I can do it.

I can do it even have my eyes closed. Actually, it's a very simple technique in Wing Tsun.

Blake properly got trained in the moguls competition flield for quite a while. A self learn skier can never go to that kind of level.

I am not wanting to get into the argument here, but I will state the facts about this and you guys can decide if it means I am "self learned" or not.

The instruction that I have had consisted of what I will list below...

When I was a teenager I went to a total of seven camps that were 3 days each, for a total of 21 days of instruction in my life.

This was 6 days total at mogul camps that were taught by Chuck Martin (Olympian) and this was 15 days total at all-mountain skiing camps that were taught by the DesLauriers and Egan brothers (famous movie skiers). I remembered what they taught me and kept working on it by myself.

I competed in moguls at the end of each Chuck Martin camp because it was part of the camp and I did one more competition when I was 14 years old. I won my age group in that one... I don't remember what place I got overall. I think it was fourth.

The competitions at the end of camp were just a camp thing that only had the learners from that camp in it. I have done one normal competition.

We had a resort near us growing up that had night skiing on every run and a lot of icy moguls. Night skiing was more popular than day skiing there and I was able to ski very often at night after school for all the years I lived there. I started skiing when I was 2 years old.

I also used to watch ski movies non-stop. I would watch them everyday. Literally every day. This may have contributed to my learning because it was absolutely every day for 5 years or so. I had 2 instructional movies. One from the DesLauriers and Egans and one from Greg Stump. I didn't watch those as much as other movies though. I watched the entertainment, non-instructional ones a lot more.
Thanks for the clarifying and sharing. Given that you and your brother only received instructions in you guys' younger days, and have skied all these times after that, I would say you guys are "self-trained"; we kungfu practitioners often say, "no practice/no training means no kungfu; without you constantly learning and practicing what you've learned, those early day instructions alone would not have taken you guys to you guys' current levels.
Quote about the qi video I posted:
I think you missed on this one. I don't believe he can start a fire with his Qi, the smokes you see in the demonstration is from a chemical reaction, so it was just a "magic" trick. And ancient Chinese didn't know "electricity," so any proof through electrical means is only proven an illusion, "electricity" is not Qi, and acupuncture/needle does not "input" Qi by itself, but to "trigger", (like open and close a valve on a Qi passage,) the flow of Qi already inside the body, so, without fully understand what Qi is and how Qi works inside the body,
the acupuncture treatment is also an illusion.

Ok, I see how the fire thing COULD be a trick... but what about the team of experts trying to prove that this is fake? They didn't prove it was fake. The qi master in the video also says that "it's not electricity, it's qi", but then they go to a hotel room and he finds a way to light a light bulb. It's not electricity, but maybe it could work anyway on a small light bulb with enough qi. If it's a trick, then how does he do these other things? That's what I'm getting at. I see how the fire thing could be... but what is a possible explanation for the stuff people are feeling in the video and the light bulb thing? Does anyone have an idea? If it's a trick, then I'm still fooled.
With a "designer" bulb, they maybe have more elaborated scheme for the tricks, where those kinds of tricks are quite "popular" among some "folks" in southeastern Asia, but here's a simple one.

No, that was actually what I said, and "master chu can do the thing against a Sumo or MMA guy" is different from "Master Chen" can do it. You cheated.

You have changed the subject to pacify your desire for a mouthy putdown to pretend you know more than you know and duck the conclusion that your "instructor path" to a better skiing is long way off. Blake may have some "instructions," but without his own training, he wouldn't have gone to his current level. No training, no kungfu.

Interesting. I had no idea that that kind of thing is popular there. Have you seen this sort of
thing in person? I'd be interested in hearing more about those tricks. I don't know what I
think. It's not necessarily about the qi master... I have somewhat of a hard time not
believing in the team that tested him.

While we're at it, any ideas about the chopstick through the table or the electrical feelings in
the people he touches?

That's not what I said. Please read carefully. It was 2 mogul camps with Chuck Martin.
Each camp was a 3 day camp so that was a total of 6 days.

The other camps I did were all-mountain skiing camps with the DesLauriers and Egans. They
are not mogul skiers and we didn't go in the moguls. That was 5 camps with them at 3 days
each for a total of 15 days.

I am not taking a side in this argument here... what you said simply just isn't the fact that I
stated. You guys are free to continue arguing about it without me if you want to LOL

Actually, to be fair, I do remember now that in one of these camps, we did go in the moguls
and Dan Egan gave me some coaching. It was only at one of these 5 camps. I went to these
in different places. I went to two in Vermont, two in Grand Targhee and one in Crested
Butte. I was only 11 years old at the first one I went to in Vermont. It's possible that we
went in the moguls in that one and I don't remember. It was the second one that I went to
in Vermont that I remember going in moguls with Dan Egan. That was on one of the three
days at that one. I remember clearly that we didn't do moguls at Grand Targhee or Crested
Butte.

You still choose the competition way to ski the moguls and you look great once you ski like that.

What Master Chen did in the video can catch eyes for non taichi practitioner. When 2 mans push hands, not many people understand what did.

Blake still ski the way that he was taught. At least he is trying to do what the best moguls skiers ski.

The sticky hands practice is confirm with what I said, for non Wing Tsun Practitioner like you, especially you are so stubborn, that's no way you know what they are doing. Elemantary? The Chinese guy is one of the best student of Master Chu Shong Tin and learnt from Master Chu for more than 20 years.
