Given that skiing is a sport thriving on snow’s “frictionless,” and flying is moving through the air “frictionless,” skiing is my “escape”/substitution for flying. In Alaska, we flew on the “deck”of a river (less than fifty feet above ground/water), then meandering with the river (follow the contour of the river), (it is exciting, like driving 120 mph on a super highway,) we called that contour flying, and here comes with “contour skiing” (follow the edge of a trail).
