snowrider 寫:You worry that the judge might take the money and run - it ends up that the judge becomes the actual *winner* and you two both losers? Let me tell you, if you guys put the money in a pot, then you are actually running into this kind of risk because you don't know where the judge lives.

It will be safer for you if I give you my address so that you guys can mail me checks (one from each). In that way, you know where to find me.

Or another idea is to make Norman the escrow account. Send the check to Norman, and then have him send the money to the winner after PK. You should not need to worry about Norman because he is the admin (or owner) of this web site.
Not sure you guys are naïve or plain ignorant; yes, there's a distinct possibility that the judge would run off with the price money (which is actually my least worry, I think I have enough local friends to hold the judge at bay). Given the US legal system, even knowing judge's home would not guarantee that we get our money back, and an escrow account in Taiwan? Now you are talking about "international banking," a lot more complicated. If any of you 耍賴, there's no way we can get those money out. So, yes, those are just "empty talk"/空談, only cash at the time of race works.

$5,000USD is a lot of money for a ski/life lesson; nevertheless, compare 禪門二祖慧可自斷左臂以求道, $5,000USD is cheap.

So, PKU, do you want to set up the date, so you can get cranking/ready?

pku 寫:The glade run on Blackcomb-whistler is much more bumpy. The run you show is quite smooth.

I am pretty sure to make a trip there and hope you can be our guide. Plan a bargain trip for me!
How is snow condition at Blackcomb-whistler the couple of weeks? I suppose it is great like we have here.

If you guys need to do it at Heavenly, I think you can race the following

Gunbarrel for bumps. This is a very long bump run but not that steep.
Mott Canyon for off-piste and trees.

YouTube - Mott Canyon-Heavenly-01/03/09

The difference in quality of skiing is obvious if one compare the videos.

Pick a date that is after late February for better snow conditions.

Snow on Whistler is not as good. The powder in your place look very light.

As I said before, I ski better on icy condition than powder but the snow condition looks not too hard to ski on since our powder day is usually a bit heavy.

I need you to take me around the runs.

Ice is harder. Commuters likes me don't get much powder in the pics.

This past weekend.

Saturday, I was there, loooong lines (mountain was closed Friday). On my way out, I saw car parked all the way on the side of the road (very rare). Sunday, the lines move to Silverrado (first opened after Friday storm). One would be considered very lucky to get 2 fresh runs if waited in line super early.

Still faking it with other people's video clip on "big name" hill? It'll be more impressive if you can do it yourself.

It does not matter who is in the video because nobody can best you. You don't know that I am not in the video.

For someone who lives by the ski resort and skis more than 150 days a year. The videos being put forward are rather un-remarkable.

I know you are not in the videos alright, none of the videos you show does, because you cannot ski the places you've mentioned. That's what makes you a fake. Care to redeem yourself, post videos of your own skiing?

Without experience, you don't know what the "remarkable" is. You only have a grandiose illusion of 「好高騖遠」, "remarkable" performance is for the shows, and everyday skiing is for the enjoyment of everyday living, need not be "remarkable." And ski 150 days a year itself (the endurance, among other things) is a remarkable performance already.

What's so "remarkable" about jumping off cliffs? All you need is a low IQ, can they turn?

I am not the one who floundering my skiing around internet seeking approval so I have nothing to prove. I am just an audience and sharing videos with others. The more you talk the more I see a lonely old man getting bitter by the day :fm (37):

Unfortunately for you, that's the matter of facts, you cannot ski the places you've mentioned, so "you are a fake."

Yup, that's how a little knowledge slips into shameless denial. And no, you are not "sharing" but "plagiarizing." So is your little knowledge.

Start biting again?!
I disagree about your "low IQ" statement because I think that those cliff jumpers must know something in order to jump and ski away safely. I agree in some degree about your "can they turn" question, but those jumpers do not give it a shit about skiing groomed.
