Here you see two different types of skis

the one in your left is modern carving ski

Carving skis are much wider in top and bottom compared to traditional skis

but this actually makes it much easier

When you edge your carving skis

at the same time, apply pressure towards the center of the ski with your weight

If the skis are angled to the snow when you start to accelerate

The easy way to carve a turn

start to ski across the slope

tip the knee which is facing downhill towards the inside of the turn

By tipping both your ankle and your knee, you are sure to get your ski on its edge

Now do this using both legs

both knees and ankles should be moved so as to tip the skis towards the inside of the turn away from the valley

In your turn

you should make sure to move your ankles and knees further and further towards the inside of the turn

You can accelerate gradually
