未試過, 所以我自認不會滑 mogul, 太大的 mogul 相信是不能單靠 short turn 滑好的, 現在自學 xxia dolphine turn 的目的就是為了你說的"hop" to skiing in mogul 作準備. 目標2年內學好.

Dolphin turn in mogul is very difficult job due to it needs to coordinate two skills, hopping and fore/aft movement. (I saw a Japanese instructor did it in mogul, deeply impressived)
Thanks for the link. That's the kind of mogul i saw in Niseko, its much more difficult than those I ski in cononet and cardrona. I once saw a child slowly decend those japanese mogul with the method like what's demo in the video. I tried to follow what the child did but of course failed immediately. I was able to ski the easier one with short turns but like you said the control is obviously not good enough as you can never tell how difficult are those waiting for you down the slope. I don't know Japanese so I just watch what the instructor is teaching. It looks like he is hopping with both feet and skiing with same weight on both feet? also, like dolphine turns he lift his feet by unweighting after checking. my attempt on dophine turn shows I have much less weighting on my inside skis that's why I was not able to lift the ski tip of my inside skis. Anyhow I guess you gave me a great hint, why not learn one thing at a time. Its probably better to learn hopping before dolphine turns.

Here is the Exhibition run, one of the mogul trails at my home resort, Whitetail, a mini resort. This run is my favorite for practicing bump skiing. I found this photo from the web:

We sometimes practice in-and-out mogul as the warm-up exercise for full bump skiing.

Nice discussion!
I was told the Japanese style adopts different forms of control in the moguls such as drifting, edge checking, hopping and fore/aft movements. It seems fore/aft movements are put on the first priority in the lesson whereas hopping is introduced in the later stage.
