I usually see your turns somewhat rushed but not the case when without poles. It will be better skiing if you can ski with poles with and quiet upper body like this. Have you tried the home base drill? I think it will give you a reference point of correct upper body position.

Your pivot slip improves a little but you still cheat by lifting your foot. Right now you pivot and slip at the same time. Maybe you can try pivot after you start slipping?

BTW, I have never done pivot slip so you need to take that into consideration

Thanks for the comments in general. After some practice I have more understanding of pivot slip. If you never try it before I ll say it definitely worth to practice this drill. I notice that my PS is somewhat different from the original PS in that I start from stationary, which present another technical problems. So in my drill the first turn is an release without poles and the second turn is a real pivot slip. which turn or both turns do you see me lifted off my foot? Currently I don't see a lot of difference between tfr and the first turn in my video so an O frame is probably inevitable, but in the second turn it should not happen.

In my first turn I was doing that. But in the second turns the slope is really not long enough to allow me to wait for the slipping upto falline. Maybe when my first turns improve more I can save some space for the second turn

影片中的文字:
-side slips linked by 180 degree pivots
-legs rotate in hip sockets .. beneath stable pelvis & upper body
-no upper-body-based rotary movements (no Rotation, Counter-rotation, or Blocking Pole Plant)
-LEAD CHANGE results from independent leg rotation
-slip is continuous
-No edge sets
-slip fast---pivot slow
-Pivot Slips develop the "release & guide" initiation of offensive turns, vs the "edge set-pushoff" initition of defensive turns

ACES2 p119. This maybe personal style preference. I would be pretty happy to ski like you when you keep the upper body quiet like this.

I'll try it next time I ski. I am mainly going to try buttering using the same principle.
I think the the limited space really hinder your practice. I want you to see how much the skier skips before he stats pivoting in the demonstration. It says 'slip fast---pivot slow'. It is hard to do with limited space.

yeah! I notice the skidding before the pivoting. Actually that's what I ll do in real mountain when there are more space. This vid was shown to 大師 BB before and he offered a very good comment that its considered a real PS. Notice that here in this vid I did skid before pivot, however there are still edgings that's hard to eliminate. I guess it takes a lot more practice to eliminate as its fearful to skid without edging. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFKElyQEhBc

What you can't tell from the video is that on that last section where Harald is creating O frames (holding the LTE as he tips onto the new LTE) is that I was following him and attempting to do the same thing. I don't think that there is a better exercise for any skier to practice. Notice how far he tips and what a huge O frame he develops in each turn.
