Wish you gents all the best in Year of the Rabbit!

In the past 2 weeks, the weather was excellent in 3 Valleys but the snow condition was not good enough. I did 'ice skating' on some slopes...haha! Anyway, it was a good chance for me to practice Pivot Slips :-)

I'm so jealous as saw Norman's videos that the snow was prefect. Maybe I made a wrong decision going to Europe this CNY holidays. Next year I should seek Norman advice before booking the accommodation and air ticket.

Norman, I like the rhythm of your short turns, good work! Meanwhile, I'm sure the comments and suggestions coming from the Epic are the good sources for making improvement. I also agree with PKU that you have to improve your short turns so as to deal with moguls effectively. If you review his videos, you are able to find some effective tactics and techniques for choosing the line and speed control. It's a good reference to me as well.

Snowrider, you are so kind to act as a bridge linking PKU and taichiskiing. I totally agree with you PKU is a ski master and taichiskiing is a TaiChi master. I am also interested in the 'goski' gathering if the time and budget are fit to me.

PKU, wish you have a warm and enjoyable journey in Japan :-)

AMS, how about your ski trip in Korea? Did you find some beautiful girls to ski with you...haha! (Just a joke :-)

Skier888, I like your illustrations of Norman's skiing in the previous thread. Any good book or ski technique sharing to me?

Lelo, I'm sure you are very busy and tried because you help Norman to post here as his responses.

Beg (1,2,3,...,n), wish you all have good snow condition in this season!

1. 謝謝您,這第一點我是認同的,TDK尤其說的沒錯,我也知道如何改進,只是時候不到。 :face (330):

2. 這點我不認同,他的饅頭技術,蠻力還是太多了點,運用的技巧比我這次開始練的層次技術,實在不是同一個層次。:20070217213814:

PSBoy - Thanks. I wish you all the best too! So you have gone skiing in Europe?! Gosh ... I wish I had that luxury and time to go there. It actually cheaper for me to fly from my location to Europe. It's something around $700 round trip for air. But it's never on my TO-DO list of the near future. Yes, practicing Pivot Slip is very good. In a PSIA training camp two years ago, a trainer/examiner told us that 3 things that we had to practice everyday to become good skiers. Pivot Slip is one of them.
About the goski gathering, I don't think that it will come true. Why? A trip or a gathering event needs to have someone to take the lead. I don't know who wants to do that. I am too lazy to organize any ski trips now (even though I used to organize several ski trips a season). Maybe the more possible way is to share travel info so that those who are interested can meet up there the same time.

Nice hearing from you again. :face (330): :face (330): :face (330):

skiing with my wife is a bit boring since she is too scare to ski on unfamiliar slope.

I only did 2 days sking and ready to go back to Japan.

For my skiing, it's still far from perfect. The tail of my skis always slide out when turning left because of my forward stance and my right pole plant rotate a bit.

There is some powder skiing yesterday and I saw an Japanese instructor skiing short turn in the powder like skiing high speed short turn on groom slope. So solid strong and fast :face (8): :face (8): :face (8):

Anyway, still way for your DVD :face (334): :face (334):

Would you tell me what are the others?

I guess she may not have enough confidence, so you could hold her hand and say "Trust me" or "You ski I ski"...haha!

Are you living in Japan???

"perfect" does not exist in the reality. So jealous, you can concisely describe your limitation in a sentence, whereas I need N pages to write down my limitations :-(

Totally agree as I took some lessons in Japan.

Got it :-)

So you got the Pivot Slip. The other two are: ski on one foot, skate (especially downhill).

Thanks, snowrider.

As a recreational skier, I used to do 3 drills, Pivot Slip, Javalin, and Thousand Steps.
