simple explanation, i drive around nz for their scenery and the good price. maybe you dont think it that way. its my own evaluation. and in the winter i go europe or korea. personal choice. whistler is almost out for me.

Seems you put scenery at the top priority.

The ski resorts in New Zealand are very small and not convenient. Also, the ski resorts are forced to close frequently due to the bad weather (e.g. strong wind).

I like both Canada and New Zealand in terms of scenery, especially Canadian Rockies (e.g. Banff, Jasper, Icefields Parkway) and the national parks in South Island, New Zealand. I still remember sleeping in the huts at the national parks in South Island and camping near the rivers/lakes in Canadian Rockies

flight time to make the most of my limited holiday and total money spend is also considered. Honestly i m just an ordinary employeee. value for money is a big concern too. Besides whistler's winter clashes with Europe's winter, not NZ's winter. I would not consider whistler to give up Europe. Again's its a personal choice.
