Get into the Ignition Day on Whistler for CSIA member ( free course offer to CSIA member )

Snow was execellent at the top and icy at mid mountain and can ski all the way down with very little rock stick out.

Excellent early season condition.

We have very strange winter this year. It snowed in October, but no more snow after that. People here are still playing golf.

Well, same as in the west coast, we had one small snow storm (the majority of the moisture moved to south/LA area) and that was it, so far. And now we are sitting under a big high pressure system, and storms are nowhere to be found; nevertheless, the "weather patterns" seems quite "normal," so the snow may come after this high moves out, some time next week, I hope.

Heavenly is open, practically, two lifts, and three if you count Tamarack, the upload lift which serves the California Trail and Ante-up, and three runs, Dipper, Orion, and Comet, and 4th if you count the California Trail (return trail), and 5th if you like long traverse/glide, the Crossover, and Ante-up, a medium grade terrain park; it is hand-full for most flatlanders already. Though limited, but skiing is quite good in the morning, nevertheless, by noon all the grooms would be replaced by icy patches and bumps, rough skiing. Nevertheless, it is a good time to practice some turns and drills and warm up the legs, but I don't drill, so it is just "enjoy the moment of waiting,"

Taichiskiing - You and Pku both are lucky living near some giant ski resort. People in my area are still playing golf last week (but not this week because it's getting very cold this week). I remember that Tamarack high speed chair and Dipper, Orion, and Comet trails. They are all nice trails. I also remember the Olympic run. Anyway, from your video clips, I see your snow condition is still better than that of our area even in the prime time.

We are much moe lucky on Whistler, the top part is almost all covered. Thanks to the heavy rain last 2 weeks which become really heavy snow on the top. Mid mountain is icy but thanks for the snow making machine. Still pretty good skiing last week.

Local mountain was really icy last night but still not bad for early seaon. Also because of snow making.

Amazingly, Those are all man-made snow! A small snow storm is forecasted for next Friday, guess we are stock with it for a while longer. Nevertheless, the Stagecoach and Olympic lifts are set to open today/soon, so the 11-12 skiing season is slowly marching on.

Finally, they have started making snow the past two days. We would have a miserable Christmas and New Year otherwise.
