We got a good 6"+ snow at 6,000' level last Wednesday, and maybe some more this Wednesday night and Thursday, early season snow report is good. Stay tuned.

Yup, sometime it comes early, and sometime it comes late, but on average, Tahoe snow is quite decent by February; just last year, it was exceptional late. The good news is that Heavenly boasts the largest snow making system in the west, so their November opening, on or before Thanksgiving weekend, is almost guaranteed, (and last year they really did an excellent job to maintain the trails,) and the snow usually gets better toward to the end of season. The season is usually closed after the third weekend of April. Last year the third weekend of April came early and late snow came late, so they extended the season with limited operation for two more weeks. From November to April, we have a five to six month skiing season, so yes, Tahoe is a good place for skiers to retire to.
