不如你來翻譯下面這四段在講什麼?前三段是連貫的,Josh Foster可沒利用地形做胖C彎喔,其實這也是PKU現在的目標。snowbender 寫:from(回覆: How to ski bumps. Alltracks Bumps Series)
I see what norman’s confusions all about. maybe you are too. The modern terms to engage the skis are to “load” and to “release,” for their practical reasons. A ski in the air will not produce work/action, we must “load” it first, that is, to put a pressure on it, once the ski is on the ground, base on the pressure, which produces a particular ski “configuration,” which will produce a “particular” motion of ski, one pressure only produce one movement. So, to ski the whole run we need to change its pressure/configuration, which “releases” the load, so we can manipulate the ski and change directions, etc. Nevertheless, how do we “load” the skis? By stand on them, of course, but with our constant weight, how can we vary the loads? Some say move up and down, but that’s only a half story.
Normally, when we stand on the ground, our weight is supported by our feet, which we call it “base of support,” or BOS, our weight is represented by COG. The “load” is actually the “vertical distance” between the COG and BOS. The vertical distance is short the load is high, and vise versa (feel it yourself), to move the weight up and down, we use knees, which is tiring as the “work”/load only related to the vertical movements. The advanced technique is to keep the COG in place [in relation to the ground/slope] and move the BOS around it to reduce the stress on the knees, high level skiers can retract their skis underneath their bodies to “release” the load and extent their bodies/skis to reload, but low level skiers can only support their weight on their feet, so they can only squate down to load and extent their body to release, as in norman's case.

So just talking about extent and retract the body would not tell the whole story of “load”/加壓 and “release”/釋壓‧

I have been extremely busy these couple months. Did not notice PKU's Heavenly ski trip until today. If I knew it, I would have joined the trip. It's so nice that you guys met and skied together. I would like to join next time. Please let me know as early as possible if there is a plan so that I can arrange my work.

The meeting/skiing went well; if there’re errors would be all mine. I brought two cameras to record the event, to ensure we have some footages, the “back-up” camera malfunctioned, funny that. I got six clips but one clip, Olympicdownhill, didn’t come out (“one-button” operation error), my fault, I apologize, (I hate it when a good run didn’t get recorded like this). Here are the rest of them:

Yes, the meeting was good, and we had a great time to check each other out. Pku is an aggressive skier, skis better than I thought. We skied about two hours, mostly just try to get pku’s skiing on videos, but I think finally the holiday crowds get to us, as all the lift lines were incredible long, we couldn’t move around the resort that much, otherwise I would have taken him to a more remote areas to do some tree and powder skiing. There was a good technical exchange, pku enjoyed off-piste powder skiing, and I find out what’s wrong with my mogul skiing, not technical, but tactical. Ever since I started to ski terrain park, I mostly skipped the mogul skiing for about 15 years, and the shape skis come along, I skied mostly carving turn and slipping turn techniques, where my weight on the skis is much more forward than straight skis, I couldn’t match the “grove” in the moguls, and as I cut across the moguls, I was struggling. After I saw pku’s mogul skiing, I realized what I was wrong, I was “out of practice,” and used wrong strategy, I should have used “skidding turns” instead of “slipping turns” to scrap the speed over the moguls and skied the “grove.” After a few practices, and now my the line selections are much better and speed improved, and I am even less tiring. I don’t have these problems before, because the old fashion straight skis are skied mostly with “skidded turns.” 「溫故知新」,my mogul skiing knowledge now is more sharpened, thanks to pku’s challenge. Now Vail brought Whistler, figure we may ski Heavenly more often later, maybe you guys can plan on it.snowrider 寫:A great friends' gathering. Wonderful. I watched all videos that you took. I skied with Arthur few years ago when he visited Whistler. He skis Heavenly every weekend. I tried to meet him on Saturday but that day was power failure and I didn't go up. If you , I and PKU can ski together for one day somewhere, that would be the best outcome from this forum, at least we can chase filming each other out. I think the California drought maybe over, next season looks good. I’m getting too old to travel, maybe you guys can plan on skiing Heavenly next season?snowrider 寫:
Yes, "溫故知新" is very important for us to keep our skills sharpened. I have been extremely busy these two winter seasons after I moved my current place. Lack of practice makes my skiing rusted. Probably next time when I get a chance to ski with you and PKU, I would be the slowest one. :)
Yes, Vail acquired Whistler. Now Heavenly and Whistler are in one family. I haven't purchase the ski pass for next season yet. Not sure if I have time to travel that often to fully take advantage of a (Local) EPIC Pass. Would wait till the last minute before 04/09 to make the decision.
